Vaccine mandate information
Since the beginning of the pandemic, IFT has worked hard to protect students, teachers, staff, and communities by calling for safe working conditions and health mitigations to help stop the spread of COVID. We know the best place for students to learn is in classrooms made safe through public health strategies that work. With the Delta variant surging, case numbers in Illinois on the rise, and more children now getting sick, we fully support Governor Pritzker’s vaccine mandate for educators and staff in K-12 and higher education.
illinois mask mandate
On August 27, 2021 Gov. Pritzker announced that all Illinois residents over the age of two will be required to wear a mask in all indoor settings, effective Aug. 30. The requirement is applicable to both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents statewide. The State will continue to provide free masks to schools that need them, including KN95 masks and surgical masks. Schools and districts can make requests for masks and other personal protective equipment by contacting their county emergency manager.
