Stay safe and vote by mail

Updated: Sep 17, 2020

From passing a Fair Tax to addressing our public health crisis to winning racial justice, there is a lot at stake in this General Election. It has never been more important that each of us cast our ballot. In the midst of COVID-19, we urge our members to do so SAFELY.

That’s why we strongly encourage you to vote by mail.

This year, Governor Pritzker has temporarily expanded the vote by mail program to help every eligible voter avoid polling places and conveniently cast a ballot by mail. Illinois has always offered this option, but during the pandemic it has been made even easier; voters who cast ballots in 2018, 2019 or 2020 should have received a vote by mail application at their home address. If you did not receive an application in the mail, you can access one

online at elections.il.gov. If you plan to vote by mail complete the application and return it to your local election ASAP.

Ballots will be mailed to voters beginning September 24, the same day early voting begins. We encourage you to complete and return you ballot as soon as you receive it.

Mailed ballots must be postmarked no later than Election Day, November 3, and must be received within 14 days of the election to be counted.

Your vote is your voice. Be sure to raise it by casting your ballot safely in this critical General Election!
