With the holiday season upon us, I want to take a moment to thank you for your unwavering dedication and tireless work this past year. Despite the challenges, you have shown what makes our IFT strong: UNITY. Through this unity, we have weathered tough times and laid the groundwork for the work ahead.
We have much to look forward to in 2025, including our triennial IFT convention, which will be held in Rosemont in October. Our fight to fix unfair Tier 2 pensions will ramp up early in the year as we push for a statutory fix in the lame duck January legislative session.
And of course, we will fight against any attempts to weaken labor rights and public education. On all fronts, we will continue our work to protect and uplift public education and state services, which provide opportunity and equity for all.
I wish you peace, joy, and connection with your loved ones in the days ahead. May this time rejuvenate your spirit as we prepare to take on the New Year — TOGETHER.
In Gratitude and Solidarity,
Dan Montgomery
IFT President
