IFT President Dan Montgomery released the following statement today in support of the National Nurses United one-day strike:
"Workers across Illinois are standing strong, saying enough to staff shortages and putting profits before people. Nurses are on the front lines of patient care, continuously advocating for their patients when they are at their most vulnerable. And today is no different. Shame on the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCMC) who has refused to negotiate a fair contract that prioritizes patients and their nurses."
"All 103,000 members of the IFT proudly stand with National Nurses United as they fight for the safety of their patients and thank them for their courage and commitment to justice. When we fight together, we win together."
