The 2019 IFT Convention begins this Friday, October 18! It will be a fun, high-energy three days packed with conversation about how far OUR UNION has come and strategic planning designed to strengthen OUR FUTURE.
Hundreds of leaders and members from around the state will attend the event in Rosemont, Illinois. If you’ll be there, there are a few important things for you to know and do this weekend:
Participate in the general sessions
During general sessions, delegates will debate and vote upon important resolutions and constitutional amendments that help set our union’s policies and direction. Make your voice heard!
Hear from guest speakers
This convention we’ll welcome Governor JB Pritkzer, U.S. Senator Dick Durbin, and IFT President Dan Montgomery on Saturday. On Sunday, Illinois AFL-CIO President Mike Carrigan and IFT member and State Representative Mary Edly-Allen will join us, and AFT President Randi Weingarten will Skype into the session. Don’t miss their remarks!
Pass the Fair Tax in style
Visit the Fair Tax booth in the exhibit hall to learn more and pledge to help pass the Fair Tax constitutional amendment in 2020. You’ll get a FREE t-shirt to show you are committed to the effort!
Help build our #IFTStrong Member Mosaic
Look for our four selfie stations throughout the exhibit hall. Take a picture of yourself, friends, and colleagues at a station (or all of them!), tag your photo with #IFTStrong and post it on Instagram or Twitter, or text it to 434.333.0983. Then pick up your picture at the Communications Booth and add it to the #IFTStrong Member Mosaic!
Get the IFT app
If you haven’t yet, download the IFT mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Convention goers can use the app to view the convention schedule, review proposed constitutional resolutions and amendments, view the hotel map, and much more!
Can't be there? Follow along on social media
