American Academy of Pediatrics From internet safety to developing good television viewing habits, the American Academy of Pediatrics provides parents with a number of helpful online articles.

Great Web Sites for Kids is an online resource maintained by the American Library Association. You'll find hundreds of links to websites that share meaningful and useful content designed to educate, informs, and entertain.

Highlights Magazine "Just being a kid".  Do you wonder what’s it like being a kid today? Check out Highlights Magazine's first ever "State of the Kid" survey, which was released in Washington, DC last month. While a plurality (36 percent) of kids would play or have fun, one surprising tidbit is that nearly one in four kids say they would spend the extra time reading and studying. 

Movie Mom a parent's eye on media, culture and values.

National Geographic's History and Culture Guide Each month, National Geographic will update this online guide offering visitors award-winning interactive history and cultural features, including related maps, photo galleries, news, lesson plans, special kids' programming and much more. The History and Culture Guide will highlight topical features based upon the time of year and current events. In February the guide will showcase information relative to Black History Month.

NewsHour Extra is an educational resource for older students from “The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer” the award-winning PBS news program. NewsHour Extra is an interactive website designed to make current events more interesting and accessible to both students and teachers and features stories written specifically for a high school audience.

Oprah.com offers advice on building self-esteem, family activities, building reading skills and more.

PBS Parents is a site that helps parents, grandparents and caregivers to raise a child who is ready to learn. PBS Parents stresses "Together Time" (the time you spend playing and learning with your child) and "Parent Time" (the time you spend learning how to be a better parent) and provides excellent resources to help you succeed at both!
